CAD Technician

We are currently looking to recruit a CAD Technician that will be responsible for producing accurate arrangement and detailed drawings on AutoCAD and Inventor.

Role Responsibilities include:

  • Support in delivery of an efficient CAD function to meet production requirements
  • Ensuring CAD drawings, records & documentation underpin product manufacture to meet Customer Specifications & International Standards
  • Sheet metal fabrication design work including jigs & fixtures on AutoCAD Inventor
  • Creation and maintaining of Process Flow Maps
  • Coordinating, processing & filing of CAD drawings & asset database documentation & administration associated with CAD
  • Analyse & draw business/technical solutions to meet customer & production specifications & deadlines
  • Support Production Engineers & QSHE Manager regarding complaint investigations & non-conformance

Suitable Candidates will demonstrate:

  • Time served through a recognised sheet-metal, fabrication or machining apprenticeship
  • Experience in a similar role working within an engineering/manufacturing background
  • Ideally experienced in use of AutoCAD / Inventor or similar
  • Ability to read engineering drawings & understand drafting standards
  • A knowledge of drawing layout to BS 8888
  • A knowledge of material properties
  • An understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods
  • Able to demonstrate problem solving ability
  • Strong IT skills including using Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Strong numerical, verbal & literacy skills with an ability to communicate at all levels
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively and working to tight targets and deadlines
  • Tenacity, resilience, a positive disposition, a “can-do” attitude & a high degree of determination to succeed
