Production Engineer

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and pro-active individual to join our busy Production Engineering team. As a Production Engineer you will be responsible for the efficient expediting of your own projects to ensure you meet customer, quality and financial requirements in an on time, in full approach. In this challenging role you'll have a variety of products and projects to manage at any one time and you will be involved at every level of the project lifecycle from concept, design, estimating, purchasing, manufacturing/production and delivery. You will be actively involved with production staff in tracking progress, resolving queries and problem solving.

Suitable Candidates will demonstrate:

  • A strong track record in a manufacturing/engineering environment with experience in a similar role
  • Must be time served through a recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Technical/Professional engineering related qualification, i.e HNC, PRINCE2
  • Sound financial, commercial and business acumen
  • Experience in lean manufacturing principles & a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication, organisation and strong negotiation skills
  • Able to demonstrate problem solving ability
  • Experience of managing people
  • Strong IT skills including using MS packages including Word, Excel and Project
  • Familiar with MRP systems
  • Full driving license
  • Excellent awareness of Health & Safety
  • Tenacity, resilience, a positive disposition, a “can-do” attitude & a high degree of determination to succeed
